Ya that is a pretty noticeable sound there. Can i ask if you checked to make sure the recirc. valve is in one piece. I know the throttle response changes some with those. I'm not sure how much the turbo would affect the throttle you'd effectively be running N/A shouldn't affect the throttle body sensor unless you've got a CEL on as well. I'm assuming you taken the heat shield off when diagnosing. I had a slightly different sound but it was still chirpy like what you have in a way. I'd let the car cool down and see if you can move your downpipe with your hands at all. Mine was just free floating when the turboside flanges snapped.

Recirc valve is OK. I have not taken the heat shield off but I am 99% sure it is coming from that area. Not a front pulley. Chevy could not replicate.

Im just confused really. Ill check the heat shield later today if I have time.

Downpipe welds are OK. No movement at all.

The newest idea is the vacuum pump.

Any luck on finding time to diagnose further?

Only further "diagnosis" I have is that I am now not even sure it is the turbo at all. I had a hard time pinpointing the sound origination yesterday.

Not yet. Brought it to my mechanic to see if he could find the origination of the noise and it wasn't making it... Can't make this up.

It is not easily replicated apparently. I babied my car to work this morning and it was pretty bad when I parked. I beat the SHIT out of my car last night on the way home and it didn't even chirp once. Doesn't make sense.

Have you tried datalogging the car to see if it's causing anything other then noise.

Yeah I originally posted that the logs were fine.

Brought it back to Chevy on my way home on Wednesday because it sounded horrible. Get to Chevy, noise stops.. I seriously am not kidding. Not even a hint of a chirp. Tech drove the car without me in it for about 10-15 minutes. Got back and said the car is running perfectly, no boost hiccups (so probably not turbo related), everything else felt fine. Drove back home and it started AS SOON as I pulled into my driveway. Since Wednesday, the noise has happened almost every time I drive the car.

What I know:
The noise is throttle input related.
The noise sounds rotational, or a vibration related to a rotation.
It only happens once the car is warmed up and driven for a few miles.
It is simply unpredictable. Nothing seems to trigger it or provoke it.
The car runs perfect (even in the logs) so it can't be anything super serious.
This noise is insanely embarrassing.

What I don't know:
Where the noise is coming from.
Where to look aside from the above mentioned parts.
How to replicate the noise for someone in person.
WTF is going on.

I am going to order a new serp belt and a new tensioner pulley today and start small. If that doesn't fix the problem, Ill do through and make sure all exhaust/turbo connections are solid and tight, after that... I hope we don't get this far.

New Videos

Around 15-20 mph in my neighborhood
https://photos.app.goo.gl/7x9KkxtoUnx9ZcPR7

In a dunkin' donuts drive through...
https://photos.app.goo.gl/a9RM4kNvFKgKSym16

I only hear it at low speed but I assume that is because the road, engine and exhaust noise drown this out.

You can hear the sound after the wind noise stops in the beginning. But yeah... It sounds bad.

Update!

Re-installed my axle back (muffler delete) so it is essentially straight piped. Not for everyone but I like the noise.

Appointment made to get my new Nitto NT555 G2 tires mounted. Specs are 245/45/18.

Just received my drilled and slotted R1 Concepts rotors and pads for track day.

Had my tune file updated for some crackly goodness and some more seamless driving.

Installed my gloss black AA front splitter.

Making appt to get belt and pulley replaced.

Making time to install the following parts:

FMIC from ZZP
72mm Throttle body kit
PTP Turbo Blanket
New Brakes
