P-1X 11.71 @ 128.7

So finally made it out for a second time to the track.

Last year:
Car: Stock tune P1X (M6)
0-60: 2.10
ET: 11.964
MPH: 122.47

Last week:
Car: P1X (stock pully), SE 1 7/8 Headers, LT4 HPFP/Injectors, JMS Voltage Booster, JRE Tune, stock tires w/16,000 miles, DA 2600-2700 (Weight: 3940 lbs. So car weights about 3755lbs with 1/2-3/4 tank of 93)

Obviously the car is a bit faster, but I still suck. I would really like to get a dedicated set of tires for the strip, but don't want to put a lot of money into it as I only go 1-2 times a year.

Could someone recommend a tire/wheel setup that will help me properly launch the car?

Your mph is probably right on track so the power seems to be there. Obviously launching the car is the hardest part. You'll get better.

I would put a 305/35/20 555r on the stock rim or pick up a pair of 17" race stars with a 305/45/17. SMG has that setup right now for 1100.00.

Thanks for the input.

Not sure who SMG is. Do you happen to have a link on that setup you mentioned?

You can get the 17" Race Stars 17x10.5 and MT 305 45 17Rs from Kent's Hot Rod Garage. That's where I got mine and that's the rear tire combo I run.

I am hoping to get mine down the track soon but need a rear tire set up first. Is the extra width of the 10.5” wheel more important than the increased weight compared to a 9.5” wheel? Looking to run 305 MT ET Street Rs on a 17
