Could be normal for a ZL1 depending on your city/highway mix. If you put it on instantaneous fuel economy monitoring, take it out on the highway, and under light load (e.g. cruising) it never peaks above 12, then you have a problem. Not enough info to know if pauly has a problem.

Ah not true for me. I always get better with manual. It's really knowing when to shift at what RPM. But for most people the automatic will get better than the manual. My 2018 VW Golf GTI has automatic and I hate the automatic- it it will not shift into 6th gear until it hits 42 MPH. There are times when I am going slightly down hill at 38-40 when I would be in 6th but the car stays in 5th, keeping the RPM's a tad higher. Then it down shifts when I am slowing down instead of just coasting in sixth gear. Best gas mileage is obtained with high gear, low RPM and low drag- very simple.

That sounds very low. Depends on what you mean by "kinda" babying, of course, but if your mpg is still in the teens cruising on the highway, doing 60-65 in 6th gear at 1500-ish rpm, that is not normal.
