All good now

He bought my rotofab and filed claim saying never received. So paypal deducted the funds from my account and after verifying shipping info they tried to get money back from his bank and was unsuccessful. So dude basically got a free intake

This is why I say PayPal sucks. They did that to me several times.

USPS M.O. or nothing.

Yep... PayPal is a major joke. Only thing is good for is transferring $$ between friends/family. Way to many of these stories out there... Sucks for your situation OP.

This sucks. Noted!

I sell through PP but require signature on delivery.

That doesn’t matter. PP can, & will, screw you. Scammers know how to use their over zealous policies in their favor like in OP’s case.

PP should be on the hook, but nope, they just say “Oh well”.

Curious...did you receive payment via PP "Goods and Services" or "Friends and Family?" My understanding is F&F does not provide the buyer protection like G&S does.

This is a correct statement. It sounds like PayPal did side with the OP, but they failed to be able to get money from the buyers account. If that is the case PayPal should "HAVE" to cover this themselves.

Also, Signature upon receipt is not always fool proof either. I have seen and read cases about PayPal that buyer will sign for the package and then claim what was in the box was not what they purchased... or, that he package was empty. I will only sell things locally where I can get good old cash.

Paypal is useful when you don’t want to expose your credit card number when buying from legitimate businesses. I don’t use it to pay/sell to individuals, unless it’s a friend.

I stopped using PP years ago when I sold a Motorcycle part. The Buyer emailed me and said it was damaged as he wanted to swap and send me back the bad part he was replacing. He filed a PP claim. I contacted PP and told them the story. PP basically said Eff You Mutha F$%^ and they would deduct the funds from my account when the buyer sends the part back as he had something like 6 or 10 days to do it. Luckily the buyer must have gotten preoccupied because he never returned it. Since then when I use Ebay I note accept only Cash check or M.O. No PP accepted. I advise all to stay the hell away from PP.

We should have a feedback sub forum to look up the shysters prior to buying or selling

Just did a basement clean up sale on ebay and used PP for maybe 40 transactions with no problems. Not saying that the bad experiences can't happen, but we've done fairly well.
