Price is Right?

Recently a 2018 Camaro 2SS Auto Trans went on sale near me, it has 27K miles and the dealer is setting the price at $37,000. Which I think is way to high considering a year ago the same car was with the same features was 32,500.

Realistically do you think the price can be lowered to 30-33K?
Again its a fully loaded model, only thing lacking is MRC.

They’re all $37,000-$42,000 right now due to the COVID / “lack of used cars”. You may get them to $34,500-$35,000 but I’d be surprised if they we t much lower than that.

Sounds like prices are jacked right now. I'd wait. Can't imagining paying that for '18 2SS with those miles and it's doesn't even have MRC. Paid thousands less than that for my 1SS A10 with 5 mi on it.

Yeah, I ran into the same issue here when I started my Camaro search for a used 2SS. For the mileage, they all ran very high in price just shy of 40K in most cases.

After about two months scanning inventory, I decided to just go new. Then there was no inventory anywhere new, either, with the options I had wanted/required. So then I ended up just ordering one.

Wish the used market was better, but it's insane right now. I used to drive a Scion xB (2008) for over ten years before it got totaled... Thinking about picking up another with 100K+ miles for a beater and it's hard to find one much less than about $6-8K. It's crazy, considering they were half that prior to Corona...

Ditto on the used car market being jacked up, about 30%. Holy mother I cant believe what the used cars are going for these days.

How jacked is the used car market? I sold my 2016 Mustang GT earlier this month to Carmax for $9,500 less than what I paid for it brand new. Almost 5 years and 85,000 miles later.

I've hear that Used car markup is generally around 10% (could vary widely by dealer and now with Corona). So I would say anything more than a 3K reduction is unlikely but it all depends what the wholesale value is and how long it's been on the lot.

I'm in the same boat. Would prefer used but with prices it doesn't make sense not to just buy new. Inventory isn't very good and I don't want to order and not know what incentives would be at the time of delivery so I'm just playing wait and see right now if I want to fly out and buy if incentives improve or just break down and order one.

Back in Sept I bought a 2016 2SS. Fully loaded, auto except MRC and no sun roof. I got it for around $31,300 and it only had 16,000 miles on it. Another dealer had a 2017 fully loaded with sun roof with 28,000 miles on it for around $32,800 and it had MRC too I think. This was despite inventory being very low. Otherwise only good priced SS within 100 miles.

Used dealer up the street has a 2019 Camaro 2SS rag top, rental car for around 32,000 with about 28k miles on it.

Seems to suddenly be a huge glut of 2015 thru 2019 used Mustangs out there now and prices really are low on those now. When I was shopping in sept I was going to get a stang but the inventory was low and prices high. Now it's the opposite for those lol.

Glad I found a better deal on the SS because I'm liking this car a lot more and it's faster!
