Would the upgrade to the LT4 fueling safeguard the pistons from heating too much (and then potentially causing the rings to butt)?
With zero ethanol, the LT1 fuel system is fine at your level. Having the LT4 fueling doesn’t have anything to do with piston rings. Getting the tune to command the proper amount of fueling (and the capacity to do so) does. In your case, probably not needed unless you plan on upping the boost or adding in some ethanol (which is a good idea with stock LT1 pistons).

Its not the hp that breaks the lt1 parts, its the torque.

Figure out the end goal and build a fuel system around that. Dont do the mistake some of us did and replace stuff as it becomee inadequate. With the benefit of hindsight, I would have never got the lt4 stuff, and would of just skipped directly to port injection and used the lt1 fueling stuff. That's just me though

When I did my build I budgeted a Crawford Racing Port Injection system in the build, I now have enough fueling for 1400+ on E85.

Thinking of getting smaller pulley for the Magnuson.
Thinking someone needs to talk me out of it.
Let me talk you out of it.

A. Do you have a fuel system voltage booster, If not you need one NOW!

B. 570 RWHP with a Magnuson is on the Edge, and that is if your Cat overtemp protection fueling is disabled in the tune leaving nothing to protect your cats.

If COT is on you will easily exceed the ability of your current fuel system with your current set up.

Logging is the only way to know for sure what you have left by monitoring

Low side fuel pressure, Must maintain desired.

High side fuel pressure, Must maintain desired.

Injector Opening time, Must NOT exceed 6 Milliseconds.

I strongly recommend a move to a complete LT4 fuel system and JMS fuel system voltage booster before adding any boost.

Also consider the Efficiency side of things LT headers High flow exhaust, 95mm Throttle body, Rotofab also.

Ted.

Ted, when I was still on LT1 fueling, you put me on a 95mm pulley and ZL1 low side pump. That setup ran great and made 568whp on 93.
