I visited your city with the family 6 or 7 years ago. I told my wife, the only way you will get me back here is in a urn. Might try Vegas in the future.

My wife and I visited LV about once a year. We had fun, we play some games, go to the clubs or watch some shows. After we had our first child, we only go about every 3-4 years to see my brother.

Nah I'm good. Like I said, none of that sounds fun to me. Going on a drive, fun. Shooting, fun. Hiking, fun. Parties? Unless it's people I know, I'll pass.

Spring Mountain, Grand Canyon, LS Fest West.... I can find some fun stuff out there. But the fake ass shit show that is Vegas, I have zero interest in.
My idea of a vacation is a real beach, real island or real mountain somewhere to chill. More real scenery, real people, some dog walks on the beach. Cities like Vegas, LA, Orlando, NO... no thanks, I'd rather have a no shot root canal. Way too PEOPLY in those places. |

I moved about an hour north of Las Vegas 5 months ago. I haven't been in a casino yet. I'd rather have fun at the lake or out in the desert. Plenty of places to go 4 wheeling and practice pew pewing.
I do wish they had more prepped events at the drag strip. Most are street prep and I spin the entire 1/4. |

Agreed. Went out a few years back on my 50th birthday. Spent 5 days/nights at the Venetian including airfare for around $500 each. Did the Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam tour, took in a show and explored. Had a blast. We were married in Vegas back in 98 so it was cool to see how much it had changed.

Like any vacation/resort area, it is what you make it. If I'm with friends, my wife or family, I can laugh and have a ball anywhere. Even if you don't like gambling, there's so much else to do. But sure, one person's paradise is someone else's hell. Each to his/her own.

I've lived here for almost a year. I like Las Vegas because it's like any other big city, not including downtown/the Strip. You can live a normal life here and escape reality/daily grind by spending a night downtown and on the Strip. I go to the Strip maybe once a month but it's a great way to have fun. Anybody and everybody from ALL walks of life will be there on ANY night of the week.
If the Strip isn't attractive, there are so many things to see and do just outside of Las Vegas. There's no other place in the United States like Las Vegas, for good and bad reasons. Plus....there are great car events that come here (LS Fest West, Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, NASCAR, NHRA, weekly shows, etc..).

Things to do in Vegas
Neon Museum - Pretty cool. I remembered a lot from all the different times I've been there, and what I saw on TV. A little bit of a walk from downtown, but not bad.
Gangster Museum - They have the wall from the Valentines Day Massacre in Chicago. Downtown, just a couple blocks from Fremont Pawn Stars - I went there many years before they had a show...eh. Atomic Testing Museum - Neat stuff, learned some things. If you have a car, hear up to Rachel and the Extraterrestrial Highway. You drive about half way around Area 51. You'll probably see the black, unmarked helicopters patrolling as you drive. Titanic at Mandalay Bay - Hey, they brought up a piece you can actually touch. Jousting at Excalibur - Kinda dorky, but still fun to watch. David Copperfield - All seats are good seats. He interacts with all rows of customers. Tenors of Rock - Fun to listen to, lots of classic songs played. Gambling - Stay off the strip and downtown. Go where the locals play. There is a place where they will teach you how to drive the construction cats, dozers, and others. Not cheap, but might be fun. Walk The Strip at night. Lots of lights to see and drunks to laugh at. Lots of different things to do. I was there one year when they had the airplane parked in front of the Sands when they were filming "Con-Air", right before it got leveled. Saw them filming "CSI" once, too. Also saw them level the place used in "Casino".
