BTR valve seal installation
I am going to be starting my cam install in the next few days and am trying to plan everything out before hand. I know well enough things don't always go as planned though.
Anyhow, one of my concerns is with the install method with the BTR valve seals with the separate seat. I was going to buy the install tool BTR sells but I noticed that those are mainly for use when the heads are off the engine. So what did you all use? I have seen some posts of people using a 12mm deep socket and lightly driving them down. But I don't want to tear the seal or mess up the delicate seal spring. What's the safest method?

Really? I was worried it wouldn't leave enough room for the valve stems. But I could just bring the piston to TDC and let them drop a little right? Nice!

I already ordered it, but I do appreciate it. I used a gift card so it was no big deal. Thanks man.

Ok never used it, and is too late to return it so it’s just sitting in my tool box. Good luck with the cam swap.

You can bring the piston to TDC and get it done. That's what I did. Also used a socket with no issues to install the seals. Been fine for over 10k daily-driven miles since last May.

Why new valve seals? Just for the sake of doing it while your in there or do the new springs interfere? Therefore a different style of seal.

I currently have the blue GM beehives with the 1 piece hat style seals. I am installing BTR dual springs for my cam swap and they require the 2 piece seal/seat to not interfere with the small inner spring.
