New tires today. Bad inside wear.

Hey guys. I had to put on new tires today. The inside of the rear tires was severely worn. Is there a way to adjust the rear suspension so they don’t wear so bad on the inside. Is there a reason they wear like that? I don’t track the car but I do Drive hard. Thanks for the input guys.

It isn't normal for the inside of the rear tires to wear faster than the outside. I have 20,000 miles on my tires and the tread depth is nearly equal across the tires. The rear suspension alignment can be adjusted just like the front suspension. Some of the alignment bolts on the rear suspension must be replaced (not reused) so be sure to take it to a reputable shop. I suggest you take the car back to the dealer and have them check the suspension and alignment to see if there is a problem. If there is an issue they should be able to fix it under warranty to help the next set of tires last longer. It might help if you happen to have pictures of what the tires looked like when you replaced them.

I suspect an issue with the align/suspension. My tires have worn evenly through the life of the car and I do race with them.

I just noticed mine are worn more on the inside also, I'm lowered ( alignment done after ) and also drive the shit out of mine. I've got a decent amount of miles on them though.

I had an 05 GTO that did the same thing and it was bone stock at that time. I thought it had something to do with the independent rear suspension. Guess she goes back to the alignment shop.

If you lowered you car, shouldn't you have your camber adjusted as well? ... or you'll wear the inside if your tires.

What's your alignment? To answer your questions; yes, and yes.

You can't rotate them as they are different sizes front and back

You can do side to side rotations.

Aren't they directional? If they are, you can't do side to side either unless you have the tires completely removed from the rims and swapped. My dealer didn't ever require tire rotation on my Camaros.

The OEM tires ARE NOT DIRECTIONAL. If they were, a big arrow and the word ROTATION would be visible on the sidewall to indicate the correct direction of rotation. The tires are asymmetrical and the outside is marked OUTSIDE. Therefore, they can be rotated side to side without removing from the rims.

Having said that, side to side rotation is not going to fix the OP's alignment problem. An alignment is called for.

I’m going to take it in tomorrow and have them check the alignment. I’m thinking the rear alignment needs some attention. The front tires looked like they are wearing very even. If they still have my old tires I will get some pics of the tires.

I got PZero tires because it’s all they had in stock and I couldn’t wait. They seem very slippery but I have heard that they will get sticky after a couple hundred miles. Anyone confirm this ?

Great use of caps to emphasize your points. Thanks for the follow up since I wasn't sure. I don't have the car any longer and could not just go out and see one.
