Need help finding fuel line retaining clip
Nearly done with my engine swap. Somehow, I misplaced a single fuel line retaining clip. I really do not want my new build to go down in flames, so I am asking if any of you with amazing detective skills can help me locate one of these replacements.
I have checked all the auto parts stores, Summit, Jegs, GM Parts Direct, and all the similar companies to them. Closest I have found is an Earls fitting adapter tool, but that is not it. Update: I am such an idiot. Found it on RockAuto in 20 seconds.....Well, at the very least this will hopefully help someone else that needs one in the future. Part # 22695614 2nd Update: Just got off the phone with local Chevy dealer. They will have it for me by 5pm today for $4.99. Very surprised. Here it is (Stock Photo, not my car):

Old post. But just wanted to say thanks. Searched all over for a part #. Came across this post and got it!

Actually thats a safety clip that was added around 2000 to the LS engines. Before that the fitting didn't have it and there wasn't any real issue. The fuel line fitting itself will stay on just fine. My 98 Corvette had fuel system problems and the dealer replaced the fuel rail, injectors and later looking at a newer Corvette I noticed that clip but it wasn't on mine. I went back to the dealer and they told me it wasn't used in 98. I believe it was added part of a safety standard update.
Its a peace of mind thing for me, the thought of that fuel line popping off is frightening. |
