Each Dealer is an independent business, that controls their inventory.
Communication of orders - IE: orders to the manufacturer direct by the consumer is not available.

Unfortunately....sounds like the they trying to "hang on"...in desperation,
and not creating a good business relationship with you.

I would suggest calling the General Manager / Owner...

Thanks Becky. I saw you had gone offline so here is what I had done (for others that may have a similar situation):
-

  • Contacted Chevrolet via chat - No – they can’t help in any way resolve the issue, BUT, they can document it for me on the order so I had them document that I was at 1100 and had requested cancellation
  • When the Manager called me back earlier to give me the process for cancellation, he had told me that because the dealership had escalated so heavily with Chevrolet that the General Manger said they would not cancel the order. Even though I am at 1100. You are right they were holding on desperately hoping for allocation tomorrow.
  • After a very frustrating call with them, and their refusal to return my deposit, I hung up and called VISA and disputed the charges for my deposit. (Only use a credit card for a deposit!) They opened a case and said if there were any questions, they would contact me for documentation.
  • I have a voicemail from the rep telling me my car would be built this week.
  • I have a chat with Chevrolet this morning with 1100 status.
  • I have the second chat with Chevrolet documenting their refusal to refund the money.
  • And I have some other documentation – more is better.
I received a call from the general Manager. Nice guy, but clearly they think that an order at 1100 combined with their begging their Field Rep for allocation has meaning to me. It may have if they had been upfront and not fabricated (multiple times) their lack of allocation and they could not (or did not) match my order to an allocation. They are now processing a refund on my deposit.


Thank you for the coaching and the order status. I agree – if I had to do it all over, I would have escalated to the GM and had a conversation with him earlier. I relied on the misinformation at the Sales Manager Level that caused this issue to go on longer than it should have.


I will restate – if you come late to the site like I did, and you have already placed your order and are having issues, check with Becky first. If she can’t fulfill a new order, then use her next time!

Let me explain...
In Order Management...
There are "Tabs"..
Placed -2000 Status
In System- 2500 - 3799 Status
In Transit - 3800 - 4999 Status


When an order reaches 3800 and above ..
it falls in the "tab" titled In Transit...
To see actual Status...have to look at the order
to "see" actual status on the order...

Soooo...It's in the In Transit - "tab" at 3800
