HUD

is there any way to turn the HUD off? I know I might be in the minority but sometimes it bugs the heck out of me!

Yes, just click the HUD brightness button down repeatedly until it disappears, click the brightness button upward repeatedly to bring it back

Thank you! I should’ve thought of that I was just looking for an on off switch LOL

Right? The more the complex, it's surprising when something is easy...

Give it some time. First time it's seems annoying but after a while it becomes second nature and now I find myself looking for it when I drive non HUD cars. The key is to set the brightness so it is not overpowering but just enough to be visible.

I love my HUD but to each of their own.

Also, GM's HUD controls are actually pretty intuitive IMO and very easy to access. In my friend's car, the setting are hidden in the centre display which is more work to adjust.

I am the same way. It's annoying to drive a car without HUD now. Just like heated seats. Once I had them I will not be able to go back, all future cars that I purchase will have to have a built in HUD (I don't like the aftermarket units - the integrated is so much better).

GM first offered HUD on the 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. It was developed with Ratheon using their military HUD systems on fighter jets since the late 1970s.

To tell you where Cadillac was at the time, it was considered too “high tech” for any Cadillac and wasn’t offered on a Caddy until the 1991 Allante.

As others have said, I love my HUD. When i drive my wife's car (it doesn't have HUD) after driving my car for a couple of weeks straight, I have a habit of looking for the HUD thru her windshield

My HUD seems to be displaying a little crooked....does anyone know if there is a way to fix it? Don't mean to hijack this thread I love my HUD as well.

Go to the Settings page in the gauge cluster. There is an option to adjust the angle of the HUD display.

I still find myself looking at the speedo & tach on the cluster. Then it dawns on me, “Hey dumbass, it’s right there in from of you.”.

That’s even after having a 5.3 GTP for a while that had it.
