Ya but is that bad ass 69' current emissions legal? Or only because it's exempt?

The ZL1 should be about a 1,000 lbs heavier, modern suspension is hard too beat.

Cool Video: 2012 Camaro ZL1 vs. 750 HP Red Devil 69 Camaro

Killer Video

Quote:
On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, David Freiburger meets up with Pro Touring legend Mark Stielow to compare old and new Camaros head to head. Mark Stielow is a GM engineer with a long history of building vintage, street-worthy Camaros with amazing handling prowess. His latest is the Red Devil, a '69 model powered by a 427ci, supercharged LS9 that tops 750 hp and 800 lb-ft. It runs a six-speed trans and complete suspension from Detroit Speed, and has won a number of shootouts with similarly built Pro Touring cars. But can his modified muscle car outrun the technology of the Magnetic Ride suspension on the new, 580hp, 2012 Camaro ZL1? We head to GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan to find out.

Thanks, that was a great watch, really enjoyed the commentary and of course the on track action. Chevy Runs Deep, especially in corners.

Awsome video and you couldn't find a better car to compare to. I've been following Mark Stielows builds since his first car in 92 which won the Car Craft Real Street Shootout. The man is the god father of Pro Touring and builds the most amazing 69's in the world....and he can drive to boot.

No mention of just how much is invested in the Red Devil. Any clue?

Mark does a lot of the work himself but there's probably at least 100k in the car. It even has ABS brakes. If you had that car built by DSE, it would probably run about $250K to replicate.
