Belt woes
I did an end of season track day at Talladega Gran Prix yesterday. It was a blast and the car performed great until the last session when my serpentine belt disintegrated. Awhile back my ac belt blew apart when I was data logging on my test and tune backroad. I have 21k miles on the car, probably had 18k or so when the ac belt failed. In both instances I was turning right at 7000 rpm. Has anyone else had similar issues? I'm going to pick up an extra serpentine and keep it in the trunk, not going to worry about the ac as it won't leave you stranded, plus it's an unbelievable PITA to install.
I'd also like to give a shout out to John David at Talladega Gran Prix. He loaned me his car to make the 35 mile round trip to the parts store to pick up a belt, then opened his shop and gave me a hand with the belt replacement.

Hey Jim, are you talking about the blower belt? My AC belt took a shit a long time ago or the Alternator Belt.

Nope. My blower belt is the only one that hasn't failed. I guess 15 - 20k must be the normal lifespan for the ac and accessory drive belts if subjected to fairly severe i.e. sustained high rpm use. I do need to pick up another blower belt though. The serpentine belt apparently whacked it when it failed and took a little chunk out of the side
