Launching 700hp 6M SS on street tires

Hey guys, I'll be attending CamaroFest and participating in both the NCM track day and the Beech Bend drag days.
Any advice for launching techniques with my combo? Is it even worth trying lol? I do have ZL1 wheels & tires which will help a bit. I'm planning to pick up a drag pack in the not too distant future, but won't have it in time for Camarofest.

Buy some Nitto 555R 305/35/20 on Amazon and you'll have them next week.

I'm probably going to sell my new drag pack, going back to Slicks. Launching that bad boy will be tough.

I second this...these tires work surprisingly well.

Are the Nittos any good in the rwisties or on a road course? I'm doing the track day too.

I have to put a minus 1 on this. Reason, I've seen a stock-engine Gen 5 (M6) with these tires at the dragstrip and was highly unimpressed. Also, our member here, Fraxum, had them on his Gen6 M6 car with bolt-ons (under 500hp) and he too had a lot of trouble getting a decent launch with them. I just don't think that the NT555R are a particularly good choice for drag racing a stick-shift car.

Fair point. I'm an A8 and launch at an idle. No problems at all.
