I am obsessed!

I definitely have issues! Ill literally stay up late thinking how I can make my car lighter!
Ive done all the easy stuff but now its getting harder to shed weight.
I need to order Racing Brakes two piece rotors..7.5 lbs. Anderson composites carbon decklid will save `20 but running APR rear wing I will need to some aluminum reinforcement plates made. Ditch heater core and blower fan. BMR engine mounts loose weight too. Will call tomorrow to see what savings are. Armor Bodies poly front and rear windshields but not available for 6th gens! Ditch passenger racing seat and mount.

I am messed up!

I am unsure what you have for suspension components but SPL arms might save you some weight?

Seems like you are the guinea pig for a lot of the mods people are considering to make their cars faster on a road course. Besides more power and less weight, what has worked to make material gains (shorter lap times)? Looking for empirical evidence if you have it (again, shorter lap times. For a ZL1 1LE.

I was like you with my Miata. Always something new to make the car faster. But with my new ZLE, I'm only interested in mods that won't void the warranty. That eliminates power mods for sure. And I want to keep the car with a full interior. I know that dramatically reduces what will my options are.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

If you wanna go faster and not increase HP or loose weight I highly suggest you invest in AIM datalogger. Studying you data is critical to improving your lap times. For me when I have a burning lap time its not always so easy to feel that its faster. So ill take fastest and second fastest and overlay them.

Your Zl1 1LE is potent right out of the box.
Of course a set of R or A and as much toe as you can put into it will help.

I would say one of the most important thing is that you have 100% confidence in your cars abilities. Any doubt is going to slow you down.

Sage advice. I used to be anal about car setup and data logging. I lost interest in chasing lap times right around the time I lost interest in hauling my non-street legal miata. I longed for the days of driving my car to the track, run it, drive it home. So I upgraded. I do pull a small utility trailer for my track wheels and a box of tools/fluids. But that's it. I still want to be fast, but with less pressure on my self. I prefer to socialize when at the track as opposed to wrenching on the car between sessions.

Being new to the platform I was curious if there were some obvious deficiencies that the aftermarket community had solutions for that made a material difference. I'm not aching to spend money on the car. It is certainly a beast right out of the box.

Just wanted to plug an Anderson discount code of Roosterz28 to save 20% when you do go to get some carbon :-)

I also second the input for data - i'm working on that myself.

With all the money you have put into it, wouldn't have been better to get a Lotus or Ariel Atom

Lotus and Ariel Ive driven. Lap times no were as close as current Camaro setup. Plan this year was to race NASA and SCCA but Covid pushed plans back.
