Zl1 intercooler pump question

does the zl1 intercooler pump run if you hold the ignition button down like it does on the SS aftermarket setups? Or does the zl1 have to be started to run the pump to add coolant?

If not is there a trick around it to run with the car off?

Yes you can run it with HP Tuners, Aeroforce gauge and a good scanner.

on a 5th gen you could run a jumper wire from the IC pump relay underhood...I bet it is possible on a 6th gen also...I haven't even pulled the fuse box cover in 3 & 1/2 years to look. I might just out of curiosity in the next day or two.

You should be able to run a jumper. I'm surprised no one has made a switch for it.

I have an Aeroforce interceptor pod gauge which I can control the IC pump and radiator fans when the car is not running.

GSpeed sells a jumper for the C7 IC. I would assume it also works for the ZL1 too.

Im going to burp my IC system and want to use jumper to bypass the pump relay. I have constant voltage on the upper right slot and was wondering what other slot is needed to complete the bypass circuit or does it require jumping more than one of the three other slot at the same time?

What I did, not the cleanest but it works

Fuse 54 is 15amp. I made a fused(15amp) jumper with alligator clips on both ends and put a pin from an old fuse in the 'non-hot' side of the fuse (it goes to the pump). the 'non-hot' side of the fuse is the side closest to the front of the car.
No need for turning on the key.
side notes
if the pump is making noise, there is air in the system
the pump will turn off if too much air in the system, pull off the jumper for a sec and connect again to restart

Thank you very much h018871 for the insight!! I don’t have alligator clips and I premade a jumper with a switch and pins already so I just took the power from the relay terminal that I knew was constant works perfect thank you again!

When I burped the IC on my ZL1 last summer, I followed the instructions in the first part of this video.




I also purchased the fitting from Dedicated Motorsports and drank a liter of Diet 7-Up for the empty quart bottle to cut in half.
