Any opinions on these? Matches OE size and better pattern on H2O. Still a summer tire, but AA traction (typical for AS) would imply harder compound- shouldn’t pick up as much loose garbage on the street?

My general opinion of Hankook tires is excellent. Have owned several sets and they been excellent and price is good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy some if the reviews are decent.

They came on my car when I bought it. They're certainly not dangerous, but it's obvious they're a budget summer tire. Probably won't last all that long, and the grip is pretty similar to the Michelin a/s 3+ that I got to replace them.

I’ll save you time and energy. Get the Michelin Pilot 4S. Lightweight, 300 rating, and proven. Michelin is king.

PS4S recommendation here. All the street traction you'll normally find over wider operating temperatures with no noise.

I'm actually looking to pick up some street tires for my ZLE as well. My tire guy said Michelin PS4S or the Conti ECS are really the only two street options to consider.

The price difference is roughly $300 for the set.

I would say the same thing. PS4S is class-leading, and the Conti isn't far off. I had the Contis on my old Coyote Mustang when they first came out and was very impressed at their value proposition.

Only Hankooks I recommend are RS-4 for HP street and autocross, and Z221 TD semi slicks and Z214 slicks for track.

Unfortunately none of these come in ZL1 or ZLE sizes.

It's a tough choice OP, but with the power the Z makes, this is defiantly not the category to go with the cheapest option.

Looks like the Hankook tires are roughly $300 less than the Conti's ($600 less than the PS4S) I will likely go with the the Conti's myself, because my tire guys feels they are 'very similar' to the PS4S, which are considered the class leader.

***Also, the PS4S also have a $70 mail-in rebate right now.

The Continental Extreme Contact Sports are very good tires and have a good treadwear rating! I had some put on my 2016 2SS before I traded it in on the ZL1 and was really impressed with them. I would put them equal with the Michelin Super Sports and they were cheaper too!

Pretty much word for word what my tire guy said. He said the Conti's were made to directly compete with the MSS, then Michelin went and made the slightly better PS4S.

Since the the price difference between the ECS and the PS4S right now is only $230 ($70 rebate), its defiantly a tough choice.

I'm still leaning towards the Conti's, but my mind could change by the time I get to the shop.

I would look at the regular SC3 that come on the ZL1 and SS 1LE, they are more street friendly, yet still provide most of the performance of the SC3 R's.

I would say you best 2 options are PS4 for more standing water and all season and SC3 for more on the performance side. Both much better options than the R's for street use.
