OHLINS COILOVERS

emailed ohlins yesterday to ask about eta for the 6th gen kit and this is what i got told

his response

Thanks for contacting us. Due to the poor reception of the 5th gen kit, we will not be offering a 6th gen version.

my response

Oh sorry to hear that but I can attest that many people including myself would love a kit for the 6th gen Camaro as there are only a few coilovers companies out there making products for our cars but most of them are entry level just want to be low kinda kit not track focused kits such as ohlins. I currently have sport springs on my car and nobody even makes performance replacement shocks for my vehicle either which is pretty sad to be honest with you. what would it take for their to be more interest in the 6th gen Camaro kit? Maybe start a thread on the camaro6.com forum ?

his response

Thanks for your feedback. We have heard the 6th gen community is more focused on handling and track performance. Our real issue is proving to Sweden that, though the sales of the 5th gen kits have been poor, the 6th gen will be sufficient. It would be a hard argument as their engineers are booked with new, popular European applications that have great sales history.

btw price for the 5th gen camaro kit was around $3375 so not bad for a quality kit

Honestly at that price a good set of JRZ or MSC coilers isn't much more. Especially if they aren't going to make them. Sad because the 6th gen is leaps and bounds ahead of the 5th.

They aren't needed. Just get the DSSV kit from GM.

When you say "it fell through" do you mean they wouldn't cut you a sweet deal or you didn't like what they told you about them? lol

I may or may not have a set of DSSVs sitting on the shelf in my garage that I would be willing to part with for the right price haha

What's interesting is reading this.... (DSSV parts available)

https://www.chevrolet.com/performanc...aro/suspension

I wonder if these parts *would* fit an SS? It says "designed for" but not "only for use in". Slight difference in wording could leave the door open.
