UNBELIEVABLE C8 CORVETTE SPECS

Was at Corvettes at Carlisle and was able to take pictures of some data that was very protected. Was very rushed getting pics of this page in a booklet they would not let you even touch.

Well now you have your evidence that 0-60 directly relates to 1/4 mile like I tried to explain several times in the C8 thread. Thanks for Sharing.

This car should do 200 miles per hour from the factory.
If it will do 193, just retune for 200.

Do you know how GM comes up with its top speed ratings? It's not necessarily a matter of programming something.

Its limited at 193, I suspect above 193 it become less safe.

Some key takeaways:
  • Curb weight (Z51) = 3577 lb (almost exactly 100 lb lighter than a 1SS manual)
  • 60-0mph braking seems pessimistic. I think the magazines will have no trouble getting that below 100ft.+
  • From 60mph and on, it's not much faster than a 6th gen 1SS. The advantage seems to be primarily in the launch.

Also, the lateral g force rating seems lower than I'd expect at .9/1

It's quite a bit faster than a SS, if those numbers are legit. C&D tested a 1LE SS in 2017 and the results were as follows.

C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 4.1 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 9.2 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 15.9 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 25.4 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.6 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 10.6 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 10 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.4 sec @ 116 mph
Top speed (C/D est): 165 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 141 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 1.05 g

and let's not forget the presumably better overall drive-ability, visibility and then aesthetics (of course, eye of the beholder).

Then, the next trims; a Grandsport trim would be more comparable to a 1LE, etc.

To put this in perspective, at that top speed of 214 mph he could drive from NY to Calif. in about 13 hours.
In reality at that speed, he would probably have engine failure within the first 1000 miles.
Driving non stop at that speed for 1000 miles is equivalent to adding 150k+ miles on the engine in normal use.
