Any reason to expect Incentives as Camaro Fades to Black?

Not much in the way of incentives for Camaros out there right now. With the end looming, should we expect GM to just allow the existing inventory to fizzle?

I bought my last 2SS in Oct of 2016, and there were 20% red tags and other incentives to move inventory. Now there is minimal inventory and no sign of increased incentives.

Anyone have the inside scoop or reasonable projections for incentives between now and January?

Much different car market now vs then. Your only incentives will be standard ones that you have to qualify for and maybe $500-$1,000 bonus cash. Incentives are month to month but haven’t been anything amazing for a long time. Incentives roll with inventory. Take full size trucks for example where the only good incentives are on 2.7L trucks because dealers are loaded with inventory of them and they’re tough to sell. Camaro has very low dealership inventory so no need to have a big incentive, I don’t expect that to change between now and the end of the Camaro.

Camaro sales were up 12.5% for 2022 compared with the previous year.
With the GM announcement. I suspect there may be even more of an up tick in sales with car enthusiasts buying them in this last 6th generation , especially with these supposedly limited heritage additions. I just hope the GM dealers don't go the way of Dodge dealers.

I don't think it's going to "fizzle" in any way, shape, or form. If anything, it'll sizzle. I would not expect any kind of incentives, other than the current ones like military, emergency responder, etc.

Careful with that statistic. GM was probably only able to build 12% more vehicles in the year rather than there was 12% higher demand in 2022 vs 2021.

I'd expect the supply conditions to ease a little more and demand to decrease further (economy and interest rates). Supply/Demand will be in better balance for sure, but probably not enough to require incentives to move product.

I wouldn't be holding my breath for model ending closeout pricing.

From: Detroit Free Press, Jamie L. LaReau March 22, 2023

"GM started production on the current model Camaro in late 2016. Its sales comprise a small part of Chevrolet's total sales. It served more as a halo product, like the Corvette, to shine on the brand and bring in new buyers across the portfolio. The Camaro sales were up 12.5% for 2022 compared with the previous year. For all of last year, GM sold 24,652 Camaros. But American-made performance cars have been a declining segment in recent years."

Chevrolet only sold 37,510 C8 Corvettes in 2022. Their Hot car. So yes, compared to 2021, Camaro sold of 21,893 demand was up. I'm one that knew it was coming to an end and brought it mainly for this reason and that V8.

Why would they give incentives when most are waiting months for a car to get built after being ordered. The dealers have hardly any supply. With production ending in January I wouldn't be surprised if production isn't sold out long before we get there.

""Chevrolet only sold 37,510 C8 Corvettes in 2022""

And I bet if they made 50,000 they would have sold 50,000 in 2022.

There aren't a bunch of them just laying around with "sale" stickers on them. Slack ass mfg can't allocate parts and think ahead so they can build to the demand of either Corvettes or Camaros.

That 37k number is 2021 and 2022 models combined that were sold during the 2022 calendar year. They sold 25,831 2022 Corvettes for the entire model year.

It highly likely that we are going to see those 20% deals anytime in the near future. With Camaro production ending in 10 months, i highly doubt if we are going to see any huge incentives or push to get rid of the dealer inventory especially the higher trims.

Keep in mind, like all things "data", the details.

What's behind the data?

For Camaro, if you're going to compare recent years of sales, and to other vehicles, do not forget how these cars were affected by limitations on global logistics and supply of materials! Consider the intentional limitations set by GM in compromise to other vehicle sales...

Consider the limitations that have recently been seen with ZL1's and 2SS cars, various optional equipment restrictions... you think any of that is going to get better or worse in the last model year?

Supply and demand.

I think once the next generation Mustang drops into the showrooms you will start seeing better incentives. Also dealers will be more negotiable.
