Thanks for trying this out. And yes the intake is huge.

Good test. So the fuel line isnt long enough to go over the manifold?

Fuel line is long enough to go over the top, it just won't allow it to slide back far enough and sit in it's happy cut out spot. It has a much better chance of sitting down under the cowl if it could go over that line. I tried to take the best picture I could of the line holding the manifold up.

To be honest nobody knows. It's never been tried before on a Camaro. With the tests on the l86 it looks like you might lose a touch of top end and gain a ton down low.

Looks like a flex fuel kit that deletes that line, like the one from DSX (I think they have one that moves it, no?) would help with that. As far as the lack of vacuum in the back of the manifold, is there anywhere else that can be used to get vacuum? I’m still willing to try this, so long as there are practical solutions.

I'd have to look at what youre talking about as I don't know where the e 85 kits plug in. The fuel line I'm talking about goes under the manifold and into the high pressure pump. Vacuum should be able to be tapped almost anywhere in the back as long as its not in a runner

I don't know if I want to start cutting and hacking on the manifold or sell it.

The flex fuel kit does not delete the line, it replaces the line with one that is about 2 inches longer and has a sensor on it. Eyeball says that probably not long enough to go over the top or loop in the back of the intake.

That is the line and it is solid on the lt4. On a lt1 it has a rubber/plastic line in the middle with a check valve in it. There is a tsb where this valve buzzes so while Im in there I'm going to replace it with the updated part.

heck I thought it was the opposite, the LT1 line is solid and the LT4 has a flexi rubber thinggy. So to be clear why is this line in the way? Does the truck intake have a cutout for the line, it looks like it in the picture. Or is it the back hits to corwl and the intake can't go far enough back and the line is now in the way for the intake to seat down words. What I'm asking if the engine could be teleported out of the car, would the truck intake bolt down fine and the LT1 fuel line would go through the carve out? If so you may need to drop the craddle 2 to 4" to really install. Eyeball says the cowl would need about 1" cut from it too.

Yes the manifold has a cutout for the line and if I cut the cowl back it would go back far enough to fall into that cutout. So it will fit fine if the cowl was back a few inches. The bad thing is the fuel lines coming up the firewall would need to be moved a bit as they are bent to clear over the stock intake and run into the back of this one as well. I was able to close the hood with it sitting in there the way it was but I think I heard the liner touch it. If it was sitting in the right spot I don't know if it would still touch or not.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it will fit, just isn't an easy drop in swap.

And if it could fall into that spot it might not need the cowl cut?
