Ok, but 173 is still unimpressive for the 650hp car...

If the gearing is the same as the SS then 5th is .74 and 6th is .5. The Hennessey car appears to be in 5th, with a slightly higher rev limit (6700) and the little taller tire it has that's about where it runs out of gear.

I am wondering if that 173 top speed had more to do with the car not being properly broken in? I am hopeful that the A10 can get into the mid 190s. I will take it to the Salt Flats to try it at least once so I'm looking forward to it. We know the A10 will at least hit 181 (on an incline at that)

I wonder how the CTS-V which is heavier, has less power and appears less aerodynamic has a higher, 200 mph top speed?

The stock Gen 5 A6 ZL1 was/is very slow. I was beyond happy when my 3 year lease was over.

Just saying.

As compared to an F10 M5. When I first did a roll run on my ZL1 my wife and I thought something was wrong. We were expecting the same hit as my 13 M5 (long gone for a 16 M5). I played with PTM and the hit never came even 3 years later. The tranny was slow to shift and the rear end gearing was too high.

So I lined up a roll race with the local BMW club and we did a roll run. ZL1 A6 vs M6 grand coupe. He put bus lengths on my stock A6 ZL1. He was stock too.

Other than my 15 Z/28 I have zero experience in Manual Gen 5 ZL1s. Manual ZL1 might be faster. Who knows.

I have high hope for the A10 though. I hope it delivers what I'm looking for.

The driver has a little bit more to do with it than most people would admit. Take for instance The Stig VS Jeremy, Lol, I have driven both cars, The Bummer..er BMW is a truly spectacular car. No doubt. But when cost is considered.... The posted 1/4 for the M6? 12.4, The 2012 ZL1? 11.93 both times are from reputable quotes... sooo...If I were a fan of the BMW? I would buy a BMW. Since I love the fastest production Camaro ever? I'll buy another one... Peace

At the moment we don't know if he was in a head wind, going up hill slightly or what ever since we can't see anything other than the dash readout from this video. This car is a little smaller, lighter, and is more powerful with better aero so it will have a better top speed than this.

Ok. Buy what you want and can afford. Pretty simple. I'll have both and an extra one.

Plus the aftermarket will be out there providing parts in full force.

So your wallet makes you smarter? Or do you post lies to make yourself feel better about your wallet? Maybe you have a small complex... All my life I have seen people that think their bank account is all that it takes to go fast. As for your previous posts? We can see that's not true... stick to the facts...

the A10 will take it closer to 200mph, no doubt.

short gear ratios lots of times makes the car seem faster

It's possible. Time will tell.
