I would zero out the slip tables for all gears.

OK. This is not a daily driver, but I do drive it on the street a good bit. Will zeroing out slip in all gears affect drive quality on the road? I'm new to this so if this is a stupid question, oh well, I'm trying to learn.

Nope...it will improve the driving experience all around significantly. Fwiw I am so much happier with the A8 after tuning. It's how it should have came from the dealership.

Alright sounds good. I'll have him zero out all the gears and see how she rides.

that's what I hear many are doing lately. if I'm in the ballpark with the guess on the reason.... limiting the slip is like adding an old school shift kit.... in a sense its increasing the line pressure to reduce slippage?

from my understanding, it removes the slippage altogether which in turn keeps the line pressure from dropping to nothing.

Probably a dumb question but why does changing the fluid stop the shuddering (albeit temporarily for some...)?
P.S. I had mine flushed a few weeks ago and so far the shuddering is gone. |

New fluid usually has enough detergents in it to clean any debris or contamination off the clutches for full engagement.

however, the flush process, is more so a cleaning process. that's why its done 3 times and drained. I've already had the procedure done back in july 2017. transmission fluid, however has a high level of detergents in it.

https://www.thelubricantstore.com "It is approved and licensed by General Motors against DEXRON® HP ATF, making it a suitable replacement for a variety of GM parts, including GM Part 19355656." So there seems to be several part numbers for GM ATF and also Mobil 1, so there must be some variation - it's pretty confusing. The reason for my curiosity is I'd like to change the ATF to Mobil 1 synthetic on my recently purchased 2015 GMC Canyon and would like to use something that is approved by GM. It probably doesn't matter, but just want to make sure I'm covered. Bill

Step 1: Contact HpTuners to gain access to version 3.7 BETA. ((Only 3.7 Beta has access to the AC and DoD slip tables.)) Step 2: Read your entire tune file with the 3.7 Beta version. ((You don't need to waste time with FSCM, its bottom read.)) Step 3: Save your stock tune file somewhere safe. Make a copy of it, and edit that file. Step 4: Trans >> Auto TCC >> TCC Desired Slip. Step 5: Zero out all the TCC Desired Slip tables for each gear. ((AC and DoD)) Step 6: Write the calibration for the TCM. Step 7: Test drive.
