Tunes. Tunes. Tunes.
So I just ordered the Edelbrock EForce supercharger for my 3.6(yes, I am aware of Overkill & their products, read more postive reviews than anytging else for these motors).
So I ordered the package without the tune. Hoping I can do away with until I get a tune. I already have an advantage + tune from Trifecta, if needed I can switch back to my stock tune when necessary. Im not going to hold anyone accountable for their input, Im not really looking for a "maybe" answer, just a simple YES or NO. Would the tune I currently have on the vehicle now accommodate with the supercharger? Nobody really knows exactly what was done, I get that. But my options are very limited. Either I install the setup in my garage, then(I guess) have it put on a trailer for someone to tune it. Or hoping my tune would work. The purpose of me going this route was to avoid paying and extra like $400+ for the tune & take it somewhere where I can possibly get a more hands on tune(I am aware this would also void for CARB emissions). So I have my stock tune(do not want to use because it enables AFM) the Trifecta tune(AFM disabled, TCM tuned & the MAP tuned). Id really prefer to install it myself an avoid bringing it anywhere and use the tune I have now. Or install it myself and have it tuned at a shop on a dyno Also, for the ZL1 guys, and tips on keeping the engine bay cool from the heat? Thanks! Last edited by NiickySaz; 03-11-2024 at 06:22 PM. |

A supercharger massively changes airflow characteristics, so I would only drive the car without a properly updated tune only once after installation, and that one grandma style drive would be straight to the tuner's shop. I'd be very careful not to enter boost even for a short while.
Another option is a remote tune, that is, if anyone offers remote tuning for an Edelbrock supercharged V6 (alas, I have no information about that).
