Crate motor from GM comes with 3/yr 100,000 mile warranty. Just sayin. Anything breaks in the next 3 years its on them.

The CAN networks on this vehicle has multi-module communication. A lot of the modules, such as the anti-theft system needs to see a matching VIN to the PCM to allow the vehicle to crank.

On top of VIN concerns, modules such as the Restraints Control Module (RCM), ABS module, Instrument Cluster, Fuel Pump Control Module, etc. perform part number checks to verify the calibration is compatible for proper operation.

Mixing and matching modules is not recommended and can set a slew of U-Code Communication DTCs that may or may not be able to resolved.

Standalone control units are the most efficient and economical solution for LS swaps. On older vehicles modules aren't needed to operate the gauges, door locks, windows. etc. that is why it is easier.

Do you know if there are stand alone systems that would be compatible for the 5th gen camaro?

Again things like the cluster may still show fault indicator and warning lights due to communication concerns and module compatibility. In theory all the electronics can bypass the modules to ensure proper operation. (windows) aftermarket radio, HVAC is the only real concern I'd have for functionality

So my hvac radio and windows wont work even if I go with the stand alone?
