Need Some Assistance

Hopefully someone on here can help me calm down today. Not getting any assistance from my dealer. I’ve been tracking my 2024 2SS 1LE as much as I can. Been on the Chevy.com chat, and my order was built the week of Aug 28th. The vehicle showed up on the inventory list a few days later, listed “in Transit” and I could see the window sticker listing it was going to my dealer. Today, the vehicle just disappeared off the inventory list! My dealer says because of the strike weird things are happening. I’m thinking I just lost my car? Can anyone tell me what might have happened?

Did you ever get the vin? I would hope the dealer didn’t get it and sell it to someone else

That’s a convenient excuse, but the strike has nothing to do with the Camaro Inventory list (which can be a little screwy on its own.) Just ask the dealer to track your car and find out where it is. If you put down a deposit on the car, you should be OK; if not, if he’s a bum the dealer could have sold it to someone at a higher price. I wouldn’t panic until you get face-to-face with the dealer.

After mine was built, it never displayed on the dealers inventory list. I was checking the dealers website every day. Just happened to stop by dealership and ask for an update. Car was in Nashville, TN and delivered to the dealer a few days later.

Why are you not sitting in the Sales Manager's office asking where your car is?

Mine was built week of the Aug 28 also. Sept. 12 dealer told me it was in transit on a truck. Went back in today, it's still in Lansing waiting for railcar.

Window stickers have been disappearing lately too. The one in my signature quit working. Several more have quit too, but some still work. Glitch?

Mine was built back in Fall of 2021. I remember it showed up on the Chevy site in transit and then also showed up on the dealer site before they had it. It then disappeared from both a few days before I received the call to pick it up. Some of this stuff just happens automatically. I wouldn't be too worried about it unless you don't see the car for a while. I was able to track transit to some extent back then because someone had posted a transit company search link for cars that were not going by rail and i was able to type information (I think vin) in there to at least track when it was loaded on a truck but not sure if that function exists anymore.

My car was listed on the chevy inventory and dealership website for about a week and then disappeared. Car showed up at dealership about a week after it was removed from inventory. I think you will be getting your camaro shortly.

My 2019 ZL1 showed it was in transit. And I was told it was at the rail yard in my state. More than a week went by and now the car totally disappears and the dealer has no answers. Since I signed the contract and put a $ down, I was the owner and was able to activate Onstar. I found the car in a Hertz new car storage lot. Getting it out of there and to the dealer took about a week. And it had a small scratch in the bumper…PIA.

See if you can activate Onstar to find your car….

So the vehicle is back up on the inventory list and I was able to find out it’s actually in transit; with an eta to the dealer of next week. We will see what happens though. I appreciate all posts; it’s helped me “calm” down. Great group!

Some dealers specifically take those in transit cars that are sold off their/Chevy's "inventory" to stop the calls that they invariably receive about the car.

This is the most likely explanation. I've had other, non GM dealerships do this in the past.
