Oil Change Fequency?

i took my ZL1 in for the 500 mile change and the dealership told me they don't recommend the 500 or 1500 on the Camaro or Corvettes anymore? The manual says it depends on variable conditions as to when you need to change and the oil indicator will let you know. What are your thoughts?

Disclaimer: I've had a company car for the last 20 years so I finally splurged and got my dream car so I have plenty to learn!

Do both....500 and the 1500. (In-fact I save the filters for every oil change should something come up in the future)

I changed mine at 500. Then again when summer was over and then I will change it when I pull it out for this summer. I never go over 2000 miles between changes but I drive it very hard and track it

they are full of crap. The GM documents state a 500 mile and 1500 mile oil change is necessary for any LT4 Camaro ZL1 or C7 Z06. Tell them to read their service manual for a ZL1 and not a V6 Camaro.

1500 miles for the ZL1 and 500 miles for the Z06( because of the dry sump). Supposably the dry sump used alot more sealant and alot more of it it gets into the oil. This is what GM said on the corvette forums.

I got told the same thing by my dealer but still requested for the oil change to get done, i did it at 500, then 900, then 1500. i used my two free then did my own oil change at 1500. you'll be quite surpriseed on the metal flakes you'll see in the oil, especially when changing the rear diff.

Just did 7500 an hour ago
There was 1mm of heavy dark shit on the magnetic bolt
(Forgot to tell the OEM plug is not magnetic, I changed it on the first oil changed)
