"Track only" deflector kit
So who is using the track only deflector kit and are you seeing measureable difference?
I threw the control arm deflectors on but didn't have time to do the backing plates before my last track day. Also I agree with taking the control arm deflectors back off but is anyone actually switching out the backing plates every time or just leaving them? |

As far as I'm tracking this isn't for the 1LE... Unless this is something new for 2018?

I read the supplement manual and thought that was only for non-1LE SS cars. Our cars have the brake cooling additions attached already. I've flushed my brake fluid and changed my pads enough times to see the air guides on the control arms.

There are definitely small deflectors on the control arms, I was just thinking that bigger was better. You can never have enough brake cooling on a heavy car. |

Very interesting. Do you have any more information on the larger deflectors?

The large ducts are only for non1LE SS cars. 1LE and ZL1 have these built in and you do not need them. They also come with smaller backing plates that only cover the steering bits vs the whole backside of the rotor. You have to remove the caliper and rotor to remove the existing bits and install these, along with removing the tire sweepers up front under the car. It's a PITA you have to do 2x every time you track or you just leave them in.

There's a thread on C5 about adapting them to our cars.
