1LE vs. ZL1 fenders

I noticed that the ZL1 front fenders are a different part# than the SS, does anyone know what the difference is?

ZL1s are wider for the wheel/tires... But, there was later speculation that GM knew the ZL1 1LE was coming in the next year, so it's really for that reason since the 1LE in ZL1 has yet even wider tire setup.. There was some initial thought that the SS 1LE tires would stick out, since they're the same as the ZL1, but when they showed up, it wasn't so, and thus when ZL1 1LE showed up.. people said "oohhh, so that's why"

Wish we could use the fenders with the stock hood and front bumper.

I was just going to ask that, the bumper and hood cuts are different?

I cannot confirm that.. Im just ASSUMING because of how difficult it is to retrofit any other part of the zl1 onto a SS. I feel like its all or none.

Yes. Confirmed by the designers in the past. You need all parts to do a swap.

I cant imagine the hood cut is different, but I still might be willing to do the rest of it once the zl1 1le parts become available.

I just price checked, if the hood is required its not worth it.

Does anyone make a set of dedicated fender flares for our cars? I know that glamcem has done the Corvette flares but I would like something that looks more like the old C4 Grand Sport flares.

As My Wyndham said, unless you are willing to get the hood, fenders and nose the swap will not work. The cutout of the hood is different. I suspect GM did this to stop people from swapping over the parts.

Why would you want those fenders with the stock wheel setup. They will look undersized in those big arches.

Also, I don't buy that the hood is different shape until someone physically compares the two.

It'll cost them to do so...not sure why you don't buy it, it's not a guess or suggestion - we were flat-out told so by the people who make it...

Wyndham let them order the hood and find out the hard way. I saw the overlay for the hoods, clearly shows they are different.

Gen5DIY already tried it, they talked about it in a thread about ZL1 swaps, no pics though.
