Yeah, those would not be fun to clean. They look nice though.

I'd rather spend a little more to get lighter and stronger wheels, especially on a performance car.
If I ever hit the track I'd be right there with ya. But time doesn't permit and my average speed on the DIC is a whopping 31mph thanks to grannies, construction, and a seemingly ENDLESS f'ing stream of landscaper trucks. No gain in that use case other than aesthetics and some reduced weight.

I have a coworker who autocrosses regularly with a 86. He keeps asking if I wanna tag along for a meet with the Z, so maybe that'll change.

I hear you. I'm lucky in that my toy cars are just that. So I drive them pretty hard. I've autocrossed my Nissan Z for many years. I even have a separate set of forged Nismo wheels I use when I'm on the autocross course. You should definitely try an autocross event. They are lots of fun and very safe versus going to a race track. And you can really learn how to explore the limits of your car in a safe environment. I bet your friend would let you ride along with him the first time so you can see what its like.

I haven't yet taken the 1LE to an autocross event. I'm still breaking it in. I'm almost at 1,400 miles. Once I hit 1,500 I'm going to change the oil again (first change at 500), One thing I like about the 1LE is that it comes with forged wheels, so no need to upgrade them. And I like the way they look too. And the 1LE is already such a competent car, so I don't plan to do much modding to it.

My Z on the other hand is highly modified and really a hoot on an autocross course. It's small and very nimble too.

Same, that's why I went with the Advans plus they look good. I knew they were light but when I picked them up out of the box they felt super light.

The history of Yokohama (Advan) is interesting, they started making wheels because, at the time they felt other manufactures wheels weren't up to the task. Also Yokohama uses the same processes to make their publicly available wheels as they do for the wheels supplied to the race teams.

It's amazing how much lighter forged wheels can be. I put forged Jeep SRT Trackhawk wheels on my Durango R/T. The stock 20 x 8 wheels weigh 36 pounds each. The SRT wheels are 20 x 10 and weigh 28 pounds each. The SRT wheels are 8 pounds lighter and 2 inches wider.

Yep, The OEM ZL1 wheels are forged and, what, 31lbs each roughly?

The rotary forged 716's I just threw on are 25-26 or so according to MRR. Just can't hang em off the edge of the road lol

Drove it to work, and parked with an ancestor, lol

Lousy picture, but through a window and quite a long distance, so pixeled out on zoom. Just enjoying the view!

Amazing how much I LOVE to commute, some days anyway.....

Installed jack pads and shift skip eliminator. Minimal cursing involved.

Which jack pads did you go with? Do you like them?

I got these from a recommendation here in the forum. They seem good. I used lock-tite on the set screws. I lifted the car with a quick jack and they worked as they should.

Curious, did you just put the Supercharger on or did you do other work to the LT1 to handle the extra power? Is there risk of putting that much extra power on the LT1 motor?

Fueling, fueling, fueling. That’s what you need. And a good tune, of course. If you do that LT1 shortblock is good for 650+ WHP for a good long time. Try to skimp on fueling, and it’s a rebuild waiting to happen.
