I despise these types of threads. People come in here, often new, and ask these pointless questions which nobody really has an answer to. Then there is almost never any type of closure/resolution to said issue(s). Pointless all the way around.

Just pretend that the OP's vehicle was totalled, and now he's driving around in a used Yugo because his insurance company wouldn't give him enough money to replace the Camaro. |

If the Op's car is totalled, which I doubt, it won't be because of frame damage. These cars ain't got no frame.

Well you just got an answer to your thread "What did I miss". There has been an few of these threads recently. I don't know why these people don't ask their insurance agent if it's totaled instead of the internet.

Hope you're ok, metal can be replace the human not so much. I would start shopping right now and have your numbers cause you know the insurance company is going to low ball you on the value. As we know the used car market is crazy and you should have solid verified values on paper when doing your negotiations. If they do decide to repair diminished value needs added into the equation. Good luck I know this stuff can be a PITA.

Accident Update!
Hi Everyone!
Its been awhile since I posted last. Just wanted to give an update for my long accident saga and man has it been a long one. So about 10 months ago I had a major accident and my insurance company decided to go ahead and repair the car instead of totaling it, hahaha... yeah. Well a short ten months later it is finally all (mostly) done. Well except I still have to re-tint the back window and get Xpel clear bar reapplied to the car. So through the wonderful world of indefinitely back-ordered parts and an initial estimate that was about $8k short of the final bill, my car is finally back in the garage. So the final bill from the shop came in at just over $32,000 and that's not even the kicker. Since I was covered under my uninsured motorist policy, I got a non-expiring rental. That rental bill over 10 months ending up coming in at over 8 thousand dollars. So all-in-all my insurance forked out just over $40k in total which would have far exceeded the amount needed to total the car from the beginning. This has been a journey I hope no one else has to experience. |

Insane. I hope it drives like new, seems they are never the same after a major accident.
