Couldn't you just buy this to go with it?

My 2SS came with Spectrum lighting but not the footwell lights. It the install as hard if you're simply adding the footwell lights?

Specifically, do you need to have the BCM and HMI units flashed? Or is it closer to a plug and play addition?

Thank you!

It's plug and play, I installed the kit myself and it's been working fine since 2018.

Do read post #44, though, working in the passenger footwell with your head practically stuck into a hole, then trying to replace the bottom panel with two bolts located waaay in the back is a massive PITA.

Sweet, I appreciate the quick response!

Agreed, the footwell is tiny. I had to remove the panel behind the glove box to access the HMI box to install my front facing camera. It comes with a reverse camera interrupt so when you toggle the camera on the video comes through the 8" built in touch screen. Just like the reverse camera. If I do this I would probably remove the passenger seat to have better access.

Thank you!

Completely off topic, but can you provide details on your front camera installation? Maybe start a new thread and put a link here?

There is a long thread about different options others here have installed that I leveraged for my installation. If you still have questions send me a PM and I'll try to help.

Here is a DIY thread I referenced as well.

It's easy.. other than needing to contort your body to access some of the stuff under the passenger side dash, lol. I did a install video that may be helpful...

The video posted above is very helpful to successfully add footwell lights. Some of my thoughts are:

- Have a small ratchet with a 2in extension and 7mm socket for the multiuse module bracket.
- Having the diagram of the multiuse module bracket is extremely helpful locating the rear 2 bolts.
- You can use a wire coat hanger to feed the wire to the driver side no issues. Pay attention how you are running the wire, i had to do it twice (whoops)
- First time using the Posi-taps that came with the kit. Watch an instructional video on youtube before it. Had to do this twice as the first time, i didn't tighten them correctly.

Overall, i split this into two days, about an hour each day. This puts a hurting on the body... feet up over the head rests and head down into the footwell. Not a pleasant sight. Very doable mod for even the most novice mechanic,

19. Locate radio, if equipped with BYOM Radio (2) remove connector X1 and using provided posi-tap splice accessory harness power

20. Reinstall connectors, radio and bracket.

It doesn't show which one is cavity 8. Does anyone know what this is? Also why can't I tap into something else, easier?

Thanks-Frustrated Installer
I just bought it from Wild Hammer and I am kinda freaked out by the instructions. I'm a novice mechanic/modder so the instructions aren't super clear to me.

For the records I have the IOB version (with the base 7" screen).
WildHammer told me that I need to cut a hole in the left instrument trim panel.

I read that you installed it as well in a 7" screen model, were you able to follow the GM instructions? Did you cut the hole?

Trying to bump this as I still haven't installed the kit and didn't find anybody who did that on YouTube.
