Manual Tranny

My manual transmission bearing i making a racket. When I engage the clutch, the noise subsides. Sounds like the bearing races are pitted.

Can these be serviced / changed? Any input from the experts appreciated.

I left that part out. I just had that replaced. Noise didn't go away.

Did you change the clutch or pressure plate? When the throw out, bearing was replaced. Also, was it an oem throw out bearing or something else.

I see.
It can be fixed if you can find someone who is willing to repair the transmission.
Most places are only interested in replacement when a transmission needs repair.

I don't see any Transmission parts available in the GM parts websites. I would hate to drop $7K on a new tremec unit if the worn out part is replaceable.

What have other done when needing a replacement manual tranny?

Three clutch and pressure plates? How are you driving your car? That's a lot of replacing going on down there...

Most of the time if you need a transmission, you'll either nwed to contact a salvage place or look online at places like ebay.

For parts, do a search for tremec parts and there are a bunch of places that repair them.
You can get individual parts from Tremec.

The first clutch replacement (2nd clutch) I feel was an installation issue causing premature wear. The car is 100% a track car now but I don't feel I am harsh driver, shift are still on point, just noisy as heck when idling.
