New Hood for the 1LE

I decided to get a different hood for the 1LE. Picked up a fibreglass hood with carbon fiber overlay. Only 25 pounds so it will help with my weight loss program. Took my time putting on the hood pins so not to damage the hood.

Not the biggest fan of most of the aftermarket hoods available. I like that one.

Looks like a good fit.
Matches the body lines along the fenders.

I like it. Need a CF chin spoiler, deck lid spoiler and side skirts to match, LOL. Next?...

Not verified, looking for actual true weight with insulation and hood scoop.

Black hood not my style -- was always bummed that there was no "delete" option for all the black stuff with the 1LE package -- but this one picks up the gloss real well from each of the other black front end elements, nicely ties it all together.

Also, a *fifty pound* weight saving? Not bad at all. Bravo!

Looks good! Always been a fan of cowl hoods. Went with Anderson Composites myself. I also like how the 1le black accents contrast against the shock!

Good point and I should have done that but it’s going to have to wait. Just dropped off the car at the shop, LT4 1.7 ported/meth/103/Roto Fab Big Gulp and fuel upgrades going in as we speak. Next week hopefully it’s done, I will post as soon as I can.

Edit update: car was dyno at 821/794 first pull. More dyno on Tuesday for final numbers.

Nice hood, your choice was my second choice but I really like the cowl look from the GEN 1 days.

Are you sure of that? A gen 5 Camaro aluminum hood weighs 25lbs and I would hazard a guess the aluminum hood on our gen 6 cars is the same or lighter.

Looking for that link with weight of hood. But it took two of us to take off the stock hood safely and I was able to lift the carbon by myself that’s 25 pounds. Yes, the Gen5 stock hood weighs 25 pounds. Maybe someone else can verify the weight please.

That's a good look! Who makes that hood?
