No 2023 unit should be delivered until all 2022's are in customers hands or on dealer lots. Won't happen obviously, but it should have.

Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, Iowa. Pick her up tonight. Pretty amazing to go from order to delivery in two months flat. That would have been pretty good even pre-covid I think.

Karl is a huge performance dealer and sells lots of vettes and camaros, so they get plenty of allocations.

My Mom's 1982 Berlinetta came from the New Canaan Chevy dealership, which I later got from her and sold after I got out of the Army. I have the window sticker still. My family lived there from 1980-1990.

Great Dealership! I always worked with Tim Kapsch.

I completely agree all 22s should be delivered first. With that being said from a logistical standpoint I assume they load the trains based on destinations. If they don’t have enough going to an area it is probably put on hold till they do.

Well I assume a load west could have been arranged, seeing as my car was built in the middle of May. Car has been built and awaiting intermediate delivery/delayed for almost 3 months.

So if a '22 is waiting for X, they should just park otherwise deliverable '23s?

That's not how it works.

I'm employed in class 8 truck manufacturing. We've been under big time pressure for the last year to transfer whatever trucks we can, however we can, on a daily basis.

I can't imagine a GM plant is any different.

Not all of this is within the manufacturer's control.

For example, earlier this year they had a carbon fiber component supplier go out of business. Getting another supplier up and running approved parts takes some time.

Now my example is just an isolated one of many but manufacturing has been a daily battle in recent years. I have more than 200 suppliers that I'm responsible for. Believe me. I know.

What do you want the factory to do? Keep stacking cars. Shut down the line.
If the 2023 models are complete then ship them.

Shipping should be first in, first out. My 2022 LT1 is complete and ready to ship. We're not talking about incomplete 2022s. These are ready to go 2022s that are sitting in a lot in Lansing, Michigan.

The fact that 2023s are being delivered and a 2022 is ready for a truck and train is mindboggling. If camaro shipping is First in, Last out my car won't be delivered until camaro production halts.

This is, in the vernacular, BS.
