1LE Suspension Tweak Update

I got some bits installed today. The car feels sharper, and the rear feels nice and tight now. I can't wait to see how things go at the track on Monday.

- BMR Tunnel Brace
- BMR Front Swaybar Linkage
- Lowered Front 3mm (Adjusted Preload 2 turns)
- Installed GY3R
- Rear Cradle Braces

I noticed that the GM bits that were removed were not poor quality, but they were basically hollow metal tuned to be rigid at the edges. The BMR stuff seemed to have the joints more dialed in for rigidity with welds for reinforcement.

Apex SM-10 18x11 and 18x12 also arrived but the slicks won't arrive till Tuesday so the track day will be done on the GY3R.

Stock vs BMR

Stock vs Aftermarket ( No deflection in the BMR unit)

Before: Stock Sway Bar End Link

After: BMR Sway Bar End Link (not preloaded - Will revisit that later)

When the guys at the shop mounted my GY3R we found my rim was bent on the inside. Called in a favor and got it corrected a few minutes ago. Tipped the guy a guap for taking care of me. Was done in less than 8 minutes. Didn't even have to take the tire off. Amazing. Didn't even know this machine existed. Lol

The car is waaaay more responsive and feels much "Tighter" in side to side transitions after the cradle brace install. The rear sway bar links are going on tomorrow. I like the fact that you can elongate the SB End-links and preload the Sway Bar making it even tighter. We added a lot more adjustability into an already adjustable chassis.

Interesting. Following to see what comes of your rear end links but that cradle brace is what is leaking my interest for sure.

I'll definitely keep you posted. Assuming I get good weather, look for my updates Monday night into Tuesday.

Yes sir. I was a bit rushed because the shop was busy and they took me in without an appointment.

Ideally I would have liked to weigh the items and also do a deflection test with a gauge, but maybe I'll get to it over the winter when I change the GM stretch bolts.

front slicks showed up and the rear sway bar links:

If the rears are in similar condition, these can probably squeeze in 3 track days. Can't beat that with a stick for $700 for the set of 4 plus shipping.

Just got back from installing the rear sway bar links. Zero body roll now. No shimmying at all. Took my mechanics on a test drive and they were blown away.

Based on what I can feel so far, I don’t think there’s a need to buy the control arms and toe rods. The SB links, cradle braces, and drivetrain tunnel brace are the sweet spot. It feels absolutely perfect!

Trust me guys!

Also we noticed that the left rear sway bar had some flex/play in it with the stock linkage. It has since been eliminated.

NJMP Thunderbolt Update

SESSION 1

Spun out on first lap. Slick track, car is oversteery. Best lap 1:35 due to cut session. Session ended when tires came in.

Local racer said I should consider softening rear sway bar. I told him I will try this setup for one more session first.

Session 2 Update:

I think I was the fastest guy on track. Ran a 1:31.0 consistently in heavy traffic.

Car feels perfect!

I’m definitely hitting 1:29 today or maybe quicker.
