1. The price. Escalades already command north of 100k. The market will be slim at best.
2. The size: The large body precludes it from being a serious performance contender, especially on the track. It will have a great soundtrack though. This is where GM missed the ball. If they kept their midsized suv chassis in this market, GM could've had a red hot contender to the mopars and the hellcats. The escalade will end up being a lone player in its genre.

GM should absolutely use this time to utilize the parts left of their exciting car line. I just wish that more thought and planning could've gone into this.

True this; That's why I suggested a new genre. Cadillac is attempting to make a big splash with this V, and if they don't explain its objective it may face uphill battles from powerful rivals. It should be in a proper environment for competition aka a genre.
