So far, I’ve just put in used stock J6H HP1000’s. Only had it on track a few sessions at my local track during Member days (Cresson 1.7 CCW). I have some DS2500 & DS1.11 to try when the weather cools down. Just too hot right now in Dallas.

What are your thoughts on the resulting cold ring that comes from running the narrower pad depth of the non BCD pad shapes? I've read conflicting info on whether it is a concern or not.

Of course, I'd rather not have it. If I was doing Vmax hard braking on the Autobahn over and over, I'd probably be more concerned.

Some ccm rotors are as low as $1200 each, sometimes less, sub $1K. From GM parts bin, 2019 ZR1 is probably best fit, 392mm. You can find ZL1 take-off fairly cheap now, rotors (for the hats), calipers and maybe brake lines. You can reuse many parts (bushings, bobbins, nuts from new ccm rotors). Clean and reuse ZL1 hats. Reuse caliper spring plates, pad guide pins - they clean up nicely w brass wire brush and or scotchbrite pad.
This is what I'm talking about, if I only do the front rotors and can find them for a good price then I buy some used ZL1 hats, assemble, bolt on and that could workout nicely. Are specialty pads required for use with CCM?

Yes. You need CCM pads.

You can go OEM or use the ones Ken has at knsbrakes.
