Hennessy 850 Package
Ok let’s get to talking.
First I don’t need to hear about John Hennessy past. Obviously this man shop is Exploding at the seams with business and Fantastic reviews. Now that is out of the way. Do they have other shops with equal comparable equipment? Warranty? Price? Experience? |

Yes, you can get 850 HP for half the price or more than at Hennessy .

I might be the only member with an HPE850 or what's left of it. Yes, there are other shops. I doubt any do as many cars as HPE, but it might depend on where you live. KaTech - Michigan Lingenfelter - Indiana Late Model Race Craft - Houston Houston House of Power You will find that 850 prices are in a tight range.

I would like to hear about these other shops.
What does it take to equal the 850 Hennessy? Parts needed? Cost? |

HPE had/has two-year warranty on parts and labor. Not sure about the others.
I paid $21k, which included two round trips shipping on their nickel. Not sure what they're doing now days. I've had no issues.

FWIW, I have never seen a Hennessy car perform as it should per the claimed horsepower. Furthermore, after having a 6th gen ZL1 for going on 5 years and multiple builds, I often notice parts missing on Hennessy builds that would be needed if they were to ever make the claimed the horsepower (ie: stock throttle bodies on claimed 1k HP car, extremely conservative pulley ratios, no fuel upgrades, etc.).
That said, I have seen several very happy owners who had their car done there, but they also aren't the ones trying to achieve certain ET's that align with the horsepower number they were sold. They are happy to have been provided a dyno sheet, the sound, and some badges. Personally, I would consider the other options before going down that path. I'm not sure where you are located, but Vengeance Racing in Cumming, GA has worked on my car since the first few months I've owned it and I've had them do everything from mild to the most wild with OE style parts.

I think if I weren't going to GPI or Pray, I'd go to LMR or Vengeance to get an 850 package done. Vengeance will certainly put in the work to have it be a very high quality build but that comes with $$. LMR is great and they also have a ton of work going through their doors. GPI has a nice shop that will be able to take care of your needs. Pray is a one-man-show that is slammed 24/7 and it's hard to get in on his schedule but, he will absolutely crush your goals.

Katech has a warranty, has done significant work with GM over the years for their racing programs, never been caught in a large "car Ponzi scheme", and doesn't waste time with stupid branding and hype like Exorcist ("to beat the Demon").
I'm willing to bet that GM wouldn't touch Hennessy for race program support and the suggestion would cause their crew and engineers to LOL. |

I will say that yes, Hennessey is "exploding" only because they are promoting the hell out of their products. Put enough money into promoting and you'll be everywhere.
It's your call on what you want to do with your money and most of us want to make sure we are getting a good deal. Do your research and pick your poison. As you are aware of Hennessey's past then you should know the risk but every place will have their own issue's but nothing like what Hennessey has done/is still doing. |

I agree... Plenty of reputable shops like JRE, LMR, etc... that run more efficiently, and run a lower overhead, so your dollar goes further. So if cost is tight, id call Ted or LMR... If money is no object... HPE and KATECH would be amazing options... Many ways to get 850hp+ some options will be more reliable than others. Where do you live, and what is your budget?
