Curb weight? What’s the lowest?

I am starting a Camaro diet and I am wondering what do you think a reasonable weight reduction is for Gen 6 1LE? My goal is 3500 lbs or less.
Stock curb weight 1LE is 3754 lbs

• front and rear seats gone
• 4 cats gone
• rear suit case muffler
• drag pac 17 inch
• interior parts
• console gone
• trunk parts gone
• stock intake gone
• plastic valve covers, engine covers gone

Of course there’s the added mod parts that add back on.

3500 is possible YES

Well I am at 3580 pounds currently without Fuel.

I have a set of track seats that are roughly 20 pounds lighter per seat than the stock SS seats were (Your Kirkeys are definitely lighter). Magnaflow back half exhaust (no suitcase). KOOKS 2 inch headers, lighter wheels (APEX SM-10 19 x 10.5) and Girodisc front rotors (-10 pounds).

I still have FULL BACK seat setup, Full interior (including console) all accessories incl AC still installed, class 1 trailer hitch +20 pounds)

The weight slip BELOW is with 6 gallons of fuel which weighs roughly 40 pounds so that's where I get the 3580 number. I have an A10.

Thanks for the input and info on your build. This looks good for me I think. Once I get a few more things settle in, I am going to drop off some oil at the recycling place and get an exact weight there.

The Kirkeys are 14 pounds.

Has anyone taken off the front lower aluminum skid plate? It’s pretty big, I had to take it off to get a tool I dropped down there before. I should have weight it then.

Ok My seats by themselves are 25 pounds each and the Planted Technologies seat bracket is 9 pounds each (mild steel) so that is 34 pounds a seat compared to my stock seat setup which was ABOUT 54 pounds EACH since I had SS2 seats (heated and cooled).

My CURRENT TOTAL two front seat weight with brackets is 68 pounds compared to your KIRKEY setup at 28 pounds total (brackets???)..

What seat brackets are you using???

You could also go with an ANTIGRAVITY battery and save another 30-35 pounds but I would NOT recommend that for a daily driver.

I have the planted seat brackets like you, and those batteries are very expensive. I saw another battery the Duracell one. Well my car is not a daily, It’s more a weekend car. At the strip, at times just one seat will be in. That is a good chunk if I go to the antigravity battery. The lighter wheels are huge especially calculating rotational mass. Was thinking of ditching the window washer jug, just go with a remote under the hood and at race time just take it right out.

Thanks man for info, what did u pay for your battery and make if u don’t mind asking? I am seeing cheaper ones out there but wondering if there any good. There must be a set amp valve that’s needed for our cars to start. ( cranking power )

Not exhaustive, but a few more things. 1) Everything out of the trunk including panels; 2) both sway bars (15 lb ea) just for track; 3) ditto on Anti-gravity battery; 3) drain the windshield washer tank; 4) Aluminum (and plastic) belly pan under engine. 5) Lightest wheels/tires you can find (for me was Bogart 14 lb. front, 21 lb. rear and Hoosier DBR 8 lbs each lighter than M/T. 3320 lbs. no driver, 1/8 tank fuel. 1SS

This what I wanted to see, very nice and what a great weight. The sway bars is something I didn’t think about, did think about the belly pans but not the plastic one. Did u think about side door panels ever? Anyone know the weight of door panels?

No help on the door panels. Pulled only the passenger and rear seats from the interior.

The aluminum skid plate ( I call it a stiffner as it ties a lot of stuff together) weighs about 15lbs.
