Actually Summit Racing has it to at a better price.

And if u check the bolt lengths it will be greatly appreciated.

Did a Test fit with new routing of wire.

Tried out the new routing of the wire and it fits nice. I put back the soft absorber foam over fuel injector system and it fits nice with the bottom of the LT2 shaved. I wrapped the wire line for map sensor it the heat foil tape. The height of the wire is actually lower then the plastic parts shaved off.

This set up allows the wire underneath with no chance of pinching or chaffing the wire.

Nice. I want to shave the rest of the manifold down to get the foam back in there.

What screws did you use to bolt the cover on?

Just got lucky finding a set from my collection of stuff laying around. They actually screws from a license plate kit.

If you notice the one on the top by TB. It’s a black one and I want to try to find four more black ones like that. That top one by TB does nothing for our Camaro’s but wanted to fill the hole, I put a bolt on that one with a nut. I guess with the Corvette it’s there for a reason.

Yes sir and thank you. BTW off subject question, do you of anyone that has removed the bolt in aluminum piece under the entire front end that is not present on the V6 cars . Just a weight loss consideration on my part in the front for 1/4 mile drag racing purposes?

Mystery solved.

That front screw hole on the corvette cover looks like it’s used to clamp down a hose. Might be useful to our application maybe. I can’t find the part number for that clip and it seems that parts for the 2020 Corvette is a national secret. I go to GM parts and they don’t let you view the parts list.

It almost looks like it’s our dreaded draped over the cover fuel feed line. At least the corvette guys had the smarts not to route across the top.

I was not happy with the Map Sensor across the top. I original lengthen the sensor wire and it worked fine for awhile. Then I started getting voltage problems caused by the wire on my map sensor and a few codes. I switch backed to the shorter version and it was fine. Now I decided to tuck underneath the manifold after someone else did it. I am concerned about the wire compressing to much on engine and manifold. So I decided to shave the bottom and put two side port windows on manifold in order to pass wire thru the sides without any compression. I was originally just going to make a small channel for the wire to run underneath, but I got carried away and shaved the whole bottom. I then decided to wrap the bottom in heat foil tape.

Basically I did this because of the wire, don’t no if any benefits of wrapping bottom with the foil tape but it certainly can’t hurt.

My next mission is get a 2020 Corvette Intake Manifold bolt or just go down to the dealership to see if ordering it is the same. I am a bit concerned if the bolts are the same length or not. It’s piece of mind for me. The Corvette manifold is taller so I almost think the bolts are longer.
Will the MAP wire extension fit under the LT2 C8 manifold cover? Just trying to think of the shortest route for the wire...

At some point, I will do this, and I didn't want to put the LT2 C8 manifold cover, but I am thinking it will be good to mount the fuel line across onto (like the factory LT1 cover) and maybe also secure/hid the MAP wire. I will probably make my own MAP harness or modify something off-the-shelf. Probably also heat-shrink the connector ends not required for service to reduce potential vibration-connectivity points (using non-adhesive-lined heat shrink; this is done on race cars sometimes).

I use a solder gun and shrink wrap the MAP sensor wire is very sensitive to voltage. Lengthen the wire and voltage usually drops and especially with 12V. The choice to go under or over top is almost the exact same route in measurements. You can go either way but my choice is for a reason. I will not be running the cover always.

Yep, plus add in an additional connector/pin joint

What I mean with the heat-shrink is as below. Ford did this with the TiVCT sensor connectors after the first season of competition of their Boss 302R/S cars as they were finding that engine vibrations from sustained high RPM's would cause continuity/resistance changes and create minor power losses. For the street cars, the connectors were changed for 2013MY+ 5.0L's (Coyote and Road Runner) and the race cars got their connectors heat-shrink tube wrapped.

Further in regards to the 10 intake manifold bolts. Went and talked to the dealership parts manager. They are confirmed different part numbers, but can’t confirm specs. There is no info and you can’t order them, says on future hold with parts. He is going to make a few calls and will get back to me next week.

Edit: update
Parts manager can’t get any further info other then he definitely knows they are different pats number which makes them different specs. They are simply on hold and not for resale.

Just saw that GPI is having a sale on the LT2 Intake Manifold with all mods done to just bolt on.

Rubbing Issue?

Might be nothing but might be worth checking. I noticed after removing the intake manifold on the drivers fuel side that in was worn a bit. Not sure if it’s just me taking the manifold on and off a few times or a rubbing issue. Either way I decided to just put a plastic sleeve on that part of exposed rubber fuel line with a few zip ties.
