Low lift Cammotion Cam lobes

Has anyone had long term experience with using softer lobes (sub .600) in a daily driver? I'm wondering how much longer will a set of springs last if I get a Cammotion custom grind with somewhere between .570 to .590 lift.

Also thinking about installing PRC heads with bigger valves. Will the larger valves make up a bit for the lower lift?

Thoughts?

Sub .600 lift is the way to go for valvetrain longevity.

The GM hotcam is a .577 with a 1.7 rocker.

According to factory service manual the LT4 Factory cam is I.504 / E.558" lift with the factory 1.8:1 ratio rockers.

Cam swaps are expensive - you would be looking at about 4k out the door, and swapping the cam for a small to medium HP gain would not be worth the cost. I would go with a maggie before doing a cam swap.

One of the biggest reason for a cam is to get a larger fuel lobe to over drive the high side pump and increase fuel system headroom. So yes while it is expensive there is a point where it becomes necessary to make more power if trying to fuel the engine DI only.

Eventually, its getting a 2650 too. For starters, I'm doing PRC heads, a cam, head studs, lifters, and fuel system upgrades for E85.

Green you'll make some serious power with the 2650 Heartbreaker. Go get it.
