How do you flash a blank TCM with a stock tune?

My car had the Shift to Park message problem and the shifter or the fuse block on the battery didn't fix it so we are thinking it is the TCM. We bought a new one from Chevrolet but it is blank and needs to be flashed with a tune. My tuner is out of town for at least a week and I was wondering if there was any way I could flash it or how I would go about doing it.

Like the saying says... good things come to those who wait. I would rather wait for my tuner, who should have my stock file still, and have him flash it. I get the feeling that you can’t drive your car, or your cars broken and want to get it fixed immediately, but I would honestly calm down, wait, and have your car up and going until your tuner comes back. I would just make sure to let your tuner know about your situation, so he can help you out and know what to expect when you go to him.

I assume your car is not drivable, and haven’t been able to use it for a couple of days, but I’d rather just have it sitting there. It’s not like my transmission is blown, or engine is blown. Just wait, it’s only your new tcm that needs to be flashed

It's been down for a week and I need to get it up as soon as possible because I have a tune date for November 13 with my new mods. My tuner us so busy that if I miss it ill have to wait another month plus so I figured if it was something I could do I could get the car back up, or at least see if that fixed my problem.

Do you have Hptuners? If so just read the TCM file from your old TCM, save, and flash it to the new TCM.

Your car is a 2016 with an unlocked TCM, it should be a straight grab & flash, as King stated, if you already have HP Tuners with the necessary credits. If not, I'd wait for the tuner, otherwise having it done just one week sooner will cost you $500.

Yeah it's been tuned before so it should be unlocked. I do not have HPTuners though, my mechanic does so maybe he could do it?

2016 were never locked. Mechanic can do it ...will just have to license the TCM for 50.00 if he has not done so yet.

Ok thanks, I'm not real familiar with the tuning side of things.

So we tried and couldn't communicate with the TCM so there is a break in communication somewhere, looking like a wiring issue because the last thing it communicates with is the power steering module and the next thing would be the TCM. It's always something with this POS.
