Ceramic spray coatings put head to head

This guy does unbiased head-to-head comparisons of all kinds of things, including engine oils. Today he compared ceramic spray coatings.

Thanks for sharing. Project farm and his engine oil videos are great with reasonable tests (wear, cold). And I like that he developed the "drag a sponge" friction test to assess degradation of the coatings. But most folks don't spray wheel cleaner directly on their hoods, so I'm not a fan the unrealistic "let's go grab any old random harsh chemical out of the shed and spray our car with it" type of tests, trying to finish the video in a day so they can monetize the content.

ScottH's coatings tests are much more "realistic" as he leaves the panels out in the sun and weather for many months.

Thanks for sharing! Do you know whether or not it's ok to use these kinds of things on the 1LE hood wrap? I know not to wax it so the "wax" part of ceramic wax has me nervous.

IMO, one should generally avoid products with: oils, waxes, greases, and aromatic/polar solvents.

But here's a pro Tip: Call a pro.

A quick phone call to your local vinyl wrap pros will probably give you the best guidance on what products are best to use on the matte black hood.
