Tire Question

I was wondering if 275 tires will fit on the stock rims that come with the 245s for the 2lt model?

Thank you.

While they will fit, they wont fit correctly. The 245 are on a 8" wheel, the 275 are on a 9" rim.

Thank you. I guess I'll wait a year or so then to just buy a whole new set of rims to be compatible with the upgrade to 275s.

+1
They would look funny, they would be hard to mount (shops might decline to do it since I think it's below the recommended wheel width range for a 275/30), and the section width of the tire on the pavement wouldn't go up as much as you'd expect for a tire that is nominally 30mm wider.

If you are going to get wider wheels down the road, consider going beyond 9" for a 275. It gets complicated because offset and wheel spacing are different for the front and rear axles when you get wider wheels and tires, so do your research before you spring for set of wheels.
