I wouldn't call 1st and 2nd noisy, but they aren't as smooth as 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th....

Could just be your gears as is, and you just increased the transition of noise and stuff with newer shifter module, i had MGW installed on my old 2012 V6 never had noise or issues with it.

Have had mine for years the tranny noise you are experiencing is unrelated to the shifter, the shifter itself does lock in and make a positive clunk if you hit the gates into the gears going from gear to gear, you just may be shifting it harder faster with the shorter throws and it does show in their video the sound, and you can replicate it by shifting with the engine off.

Some people over the years have had first/second more noise in the tranny IMO from posts on here. The return spring is stronger holding the stick to the correct neutral position in the three four gate than stock, my old stock shifter used to like to miss gates in the three four position,, stood up a little less than straight and would not even be around my house but its a good paper weight/dust catcher.
Its all in the parts you got installed from the factory and little variables...like a weaker return spring set say on one side of the stick, or a whinier gear in the tranny set over time that maybe some aftermarket gear oil could solve as though parts are always supposed to be the exact correct spec it is not always so......And recalls of various models of cars from all manufacturers can prove that. And use of the vehicle also matters parts do wear over time. Good Luck

Chatter is usually a clutch noise, a clutch in our car a SS with its stock slave needs a different throwout bearing support that is not plastic as it has in past posts shown to melt in extreme heat conditions....tracking etc ....Monster makes a billet support myself and many over the years have switched too and on changing a clutch if you go aftermarket you will get more chatter from some clutches and to me clutch chatter sounds nasty, I heard a c-6 vette with a McLeod chattering like MOFO at my tuners, recommended they change it out and go to mine.... no chatter shifts like stock and its dual disk 700 rwhp Monster lt1s fits the stock slave and I use it with the billet bearing support. I also use a steel flywheel for the continuing momentum as I am a daily driver and well steel is a lot tougher than aluminum, and I am not short on power to worry about that rotating mass.

The bearing support is the weak link in the tranny and also no rear output shaft bearing, (which can be installed by some shops and bought through a vendor or a complete built tranny with better bushings and bearings different gears etc....). The rear bearing would help in more powerful applications.

If the shifter sounds a little noisier its most likely just the linkage and the amount of noise the tranny makes for those two gears, the locking into gear kind of thud is the same for me its just first and second are gone fast and therefore more prone to clunk IMO fast shifting like zero to forty in 2 seconds 40-60 1 second, third .....to 120..LOL but that's speed shifting more realistic daily driving is 1st to 45ish only if taking off fast other than that I have to get rpms up 1500 take off avoiding cam surge and easy just avoid going that low in rpms and avoid lugging the engine and cruise gas mileage conscious as low in the rpms and gear optimally so say; I have 35 as the cut off from fourth to drop to third gear if having to slow, drop to second at 25, first 10....downshifting and upshifting about the opposite depending on how aggressive it can vary widely the rpms. And if I want a awesome deceleration popping display for my ears to rejoice in the splendor filled sound of small fuel explosions of splendor....LOL I may downshift a little earlier for the engine braking effect and let the fuel cut off in the tune do its thing with my dual mode and headers.

Looks great! Hoping to get mine installed one of these days. Been sitting in my closet for a year. :( Being in Florida, I went for the white shift ball and the silver flat stick.

Hope the noise isn't anything serious.

one thing i noticed is that you can hear the clutch spinning a lot more when at a stop. i placed some dynomat in front of the shifter (under the 4 gauge pack or little tray) and i've placed a few pieces in the tunnel under the car as well. it definitely helps
