2020 GM/Chevy VIN breakdown ???

Can someone point me to an updated VIN breaker/explanation/manual decode site?

It's easy enough to put GM VIN decode or decode Chevy VIN into a search engine (I know, I did), but after reading through a number of them, I could not find one that was updated enough to explain our VIN numbers. This info must be somewhere because if you use one of the multitude of automatic VIN decoders, they usually come up with the correct vehicle (not all do though), but I can't find a breakdown explaining all the digits.

There are a number of sites that I am assuming are telling the accurate categories of the various digits, but not all the options.

Example, most sites I find want to list a Camaro (the 4th and fifth digits) as FP, but the current VINs I have seen are FG and that is just not an option. These sites also incorrectly identify the engine (ninth digit) of a Camaro SS as a V6, which is just not the case. And I haven't found any of them that really broke out what the restraint (eighth digit) option actually are.

Anyway, I hope you can see my dilemma. I know what my vehicle is and I can find VIN auto decoders that come up with the correct vehicle and options, but they don't explain what each digit is for. And the pages that try are outdated.

Here's the 2019 VIN card, I can't find a complete 2020, but the only difference should be in the model year (digit 10), I expect it to be either L or M for 2020.

As you see, "FG' for digits 4 and 5 denote a manual 2SS, and this card does list the details of restraint systems as well as engine types.

Thanks and no LT1 model in 2019.

Oddly the beginning VIN of a M6 LT1 is 1G1FE. Same as a 1SS. The LT1 is the stealth V8 Camaro except in the VIN.
