Congrats to Jason Leiva and the Vengeance Racing team!

Runner up in the TX2K21 event this weekend in the Street Car Sport Class in his 6th Gen ZL1. This is the world's quickest 6th Gen ZL1 at the moment, 8.5@162mph.

Yep, I was texting with him all weekend and he really put down some really good numbers and was runner up in his class. Swanson has the fastest Gen6 Camaro but he had bad luck all weekend long. Broke a diff, DS and hurt the motor. Jason has made great strides with his Zl1 with a 2650 Maggie. I think as he does he can run 8.30s on his current setup, just getting it dialed in and click one off someday this year.

Thought there would be a little more excitement here for the world's quickest 6th Gen ZL1. Kind of disappointing.

Coming from the Hellcat community, its just very different here I guess. On the Hellcat forum everyone would have been very excited to see such an advancement in the platform. Probably why these cars aren't popular.

Maybe bc there are so many ZL1 running in the 9s now that 8s is just kinda cool. Also a twin turbo ZL1 ran 8.8 about 2 years ago. He sold it and it has never been heard of again.

Good for Jason. That’s awesome. I’m sure his car is no lightweight. Keep chipping away. Hopefully like Laynlo said he can get some 8.30s.

I get what you are saying. I kinda agree too but also keep in mind this car to me is more about being great at both cornering, drag racing and really having high endurance on road courses where the cars are routinely beaten for a good while not just a sprint.
I think there is a large amount of members who didn’t buy it for the intention of drag racing or maybe even racing at all.
Myself, I think it’s great what Jason has done. Good for him.

For me I just don’t get excited by that kind of stuff any more. It’s great that’s what they want to do, but honestly I rather read about just regular Joes on here & what they do. If he his a member here then by all means he should post & I’ll give em a pat on the back (not that he needs it) & ask some questions. As it is I don’t give facistbook clicks so I’m not even going to read the post.

That’s where I’m at. If he doesn’t care then why should I. It’s really that simple.

The truth is though, 9's are a LONG ways from 8s, especially 8.5.

One might ask, why did you even bother to post on a thread you don't give two shits about? My guess is just to show how much you don't care which seems rather pointless.

I don't see people getting giddy about lap times either. It just seems this forum doesn't care much about anyone else's achievements unless it helps them in some way.

Kind of sad really, but one day in the near future it won't matter anymore when these cars are gone due to lack of interest in the platform.
