Does your buddy have the A8 or manual?

A8, maybe that's why, but even the 0-60 in the manual is advertised as 4.5 seconds...

To get debris off yes, but all that takes is a quick spin. You go doing anymore than that your just wasting rubber

Not if the track is cold...I've had to heat up street tires a few times more than usual. Heck, the member that got the stock 11.95 on this forum said he had to do the same. A light burnout on street tires is the rule of thumb, I agree, but not the cure for all...

Yes, for us to get into the 11's and a 1.7 60' time on the stockers, we had to do a slow burn for several seconds. Otherwise, we weren't hooking as well as we had hoped. 12.0's with a 8 second 60' time with a quick clean. Not all tires and track conditions go by the rule of no burnouts. And we don't do a smoke filled burnout, but a slow steady spin. This was taught to me by Matt at FSP a few weeks ago at the track while letting him take my car for a run.

yeah i always heard of street tires not needing a burnout, but even after driving there i gained in 60' after a short 1st gear burnout, probably by picking up VHT on the treads

i found the same results in 4 different cars with 7 different tires.

Also, I drove a Scat Pack prior to deciding on my 15 Camaro. That Dodge cannot put down the power. I didn't feel like buying a car that needed me to get new tires just to be able to go WOT. I have no idea why Dodge thought that was a great idea to put 245's under a 480HP monster.
